Giorgos Hortareas is Professor of Macroeconomic Theory and Policy in the Department of Economic Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He studied in the Departments of Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (degree), the University of Glasgow (M.Phil.), and the University of Connecticut (Ph.D., 1999). His research focuses on macroeconomic policy theory with an emphasis on monetary policy, the relationship between the financial system and the macro-economy, and international macroeconomics with an emphasis on exchange rates.
